How can I become a Validated user?
|
There are two ways a member can be Validated. First, another member who are themselves validated may in turn validate others. This should only be done when the validating
member has met you in person and wishes to 'vouch' for you and that you are correctly representing yourselves in your profile. Additionally, the Administrator can validate
you provided your provide photographic proof that you are 'real'. To do this, post a photo to your public album where you (both of you if you are a couple) are holding
a sign with your CafeDesire membership name and the date printed on it. You must be holding the sign. Text added to a photograph is not sufficient.
The Administrator upon seeing this photo posted to your account will grant your validation. This photo will not be approved for viewing by other members.
The admin will, for your privacy, reject the photo once your validation has been granted.

I am unable to enter Chat.
|
It is necessary for the chat function to launch a new browser session to run. If you are not seeing a new browser instance then you probably pop up blocker preventing
the new browser creation. Please check you browser configuration and set it to allow CafeDesire to 'pop up' new 'windows'. Also, the current chat application relies on
HTML5. If you're browser is significantly out of date then you will need to update it for the chat to operate correctly. If you have having issues with the sign on process,
please clear your browsers cache, close and reopen the browser, log back into CafeDesire and try again.

How do I change my location?

Click on the top header Account menu. This will display an account management page from which you can perform a variety
of functions related to your membership. On the lower right hand side you will see a place where you can supply a new Postal Code, Zipcode, or city/country to change your location.
There are no restrictions as to where or how many times you may change your location.

How do I become a Featured Member? How do I remove myself as a Featured Member?

To become a featured member you click on the 'Join' link right next to the Featured Member banner. This link functions as a toggle, it will be a 'Join' link
if you are not currently a featured member or a 'Quit' link if you already are a member. Clicking 'Join' will present you form to fill out to become a featured member.
clicking the 'Quit' link will remove your profile from the ranks of the featured member. NOTE: your current profile main photo is used as your
featured member photo, so you must have a main photo set to become a featured member.

How do I post photos to my profile?

Posting photos to your profile is done through the Photo Management page. You access the Photo Management page by clicking on the
Account menu choice in the header menu. There is a link to Photo Management in the list on the left side of the page, 2nd item down
from the top. For those of you with older equipment or with very low resolutions set on your video card, it may be necessary to scroll to
the right to see the Account menu choice. It is the last item on right hand side of the header menu.

What is a 'main photo' and how do I set one?
|
A 'main photo' is a photo from your Public album you wish to use as your 'calling card' image. This main photo acts as the thumbnail
visible on all member lists (e.g. online members, wishlist, etc.) and as the photo displayed in your profile view. You'll want to choose
an image you feel best suits you as it will be the first impression other members have of you. To set a main photo, go to the Photo Management
page and view your public album. You will see a link above your photos title 'set main', click it to set the photo to your profile's main photo.
If you have a current main photo, it will be bordered in red.
